Class Information

STEM

In this class we will explore various STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) concepts through hands-on projects and group discussions. We will also be exploring careers in these fields. I hope to create a relaxed environment to spark interest in STEM. There will be little to no homework for this class but instead I will place a focus on fun, creativity and problem solving.

Lesson examples: paper airplanes, toothpick bridge building, egg drop, etc

Instructor Bio:

Hi! My name is Tessa Heckert and I hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management. Upon graduation I worked for an engineering and construction firm assisting civil engineers on various road and drainage projects for the state of Michigan. I now homeschool my three young child who also attend Palaestra. I am passionate about homeschooling and am so excited for the opportunity to instill a love of math and science into young minds.
