  Rhythm and Voice
   
  

~~Students will be exposed to the many facets of music such as rhythms, note-reading, basic vocal techniques, as well as the instruments of an orchestra. There will be opportunity to enjoy the use of rhythm instruments, hand bells, participate in listening games, and learn to sing basic melodies and harmonies.  The class will also prepare a few vocal selections to perform at the Spring Concert and Festival of Arts in May.

  Instructor Bio:
  For over twenty years Mrs. Lewis has been actively involved in her church as worship accompanist on the piano, choir member, and children’s choir director. She taught General Music at a local Christian School while living in New Jersey, and currently teaches Intermediate Orchestra and Elementary Chorus at Oakland Homeschool Music, Inc. in Waterford, MI. She graduated from Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey with degrees in Psychology and Education. Mrs. Lewis moved to Michigan in the fall of 2005, after living in New Jersey her entire life. While in college, she met her husband, Ed, and they now live in Novi. She has homeschooled all three of their daughters. In addition to playing the piano and the violin, she enjoys rubber stamping, sewing, and reading.
