LOCATION: CENTER STAGE DANCE COMPANY This class is a Tuesday & Friday course (not one or the other-no exceptions). When registering, parents must add the Tuesday AND Friday class to their cart and check out. This intermediate class is designed to challenge ballet students to grow at a more rapid pace. Focus will be on proper turnout and advanced barre exercises to improve balance, poise and flexibility. Through the use of resistance bands, strength training and matwork, students will be preparing their bodies to begin en pointe. Pointe shoe ï¬ttings will be based on individual progress and not all students will begin pointe at the same time. (More parent education on this matter later). Students will be given annual pointe shoe assessments to track their progress. Emphasis will be on improving dance ability in preparation to advance to Ballet 4/ Beginner Pointe. DRESS CODE: pink leather ballet shoes, pink tights, a solid black leotard and hair in a bun. Dancers must be age 10 by the ï¬rst day of class or have teacher permission. Three to four years of prior ballet experience is required. Students should expect to remain at their current level of ballet for at least 2-3 years before advancing to the next level.

There is an additional $20 studio fee, per family, that will be added after enrollment.

| | Christina Kilpatrick has been training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical and Praise dance for over fifteen years. She is a STOTT Pilates certified instructor and a certified Personal Trainer through The National Academy of Sports Medicine. Christina has been teaching dance for over fifteen years. She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Palaestra Dance Team and has been leading the program since 2007. Christina is a former company member of Grace Dance Ensemble and was the founder and creator of the six year long Earth to Eternity praise dance ensemble ministry. In addition to conducting the Palaestra Dance Team, Christina is on the children’s ministry team for the Oak Pointe West Bloomfield church plant. She also enjoys cooking, walking in Maybury State Park and spending time with her husband, Iain. Christina loves working with dancers of all ages and abilities and is excited to share her passion for dance with her students!
