| ~New and Continuing students welcome.
What do designers do to plan a video game, a level, a character, a storyline? How does the creation process begin and how does it get approved to go into production? How are games made to be educational, challenging, and most importantly, fun to play?
This class explores the game design process by analyzing our favorite games, in small groups and in individual exploration. Students will build their own board games in teams, the "paper prototypes" which are the foundation of all types of games. Through this process, students will build skills in communication by writing the rules to their own game, and working in small groups with individual assignments.
Warning: Students will be encouraged to play board games with their families and friends for homework.
