  Science All Around

This semester the class will focus on animal communities, food webs, and habitats. We’ll learn about where food comes from and animal families. “Show and tell” periods will allow students to share their understanding with classmates and bring an item from home correlating with our topic for the week. Lesson topics will also include animal predator/prey relationships, camouflaging, adaptations, and animal survival techniques and strategies. In addition to hands on activities, students will complete correlating worksheets. Older students will also write a paragraph describing their findings and/or topic lesson. This class will view some short films highlighting unique animals in their natural habitats. Local fieldtrips may also be included! The focus of this general science class is geared toward K-2nd grade students and has a curriculum that changes to allow for fluctuations in seasons each year.
