| Description:
You know basics of machine sewing and a bit beyond. In this class you’ll learn how to make several different seams, seam finishes and hems (including a few hand stitches), identify fabrics and learn the proper machine settings needed for those fabric types and how to read, lay out and cut a pattern. We will be drawing on many forms of inspiration for your sewing projects and have the freedom to uncover and discover new talents.
*Projects and class schedule may be adjusted to reflect the abilities, interests and pace of the students in course.
We will also be working on a service project as part of our sewing expedition.
Requirements:
Must have a working sewing machine with straight stitch and zigzag stitch that you can thread yourself (including the bobbin). It is great if you know basic stitches and how your machine’s tension works. Please note: all project supplies will be the responsibility of the student. These may include but not limited to: patterns, thread, needles, scissors, pattern, fabric, elastic, etc. I will be working with each student individually on project selection, working through budgets for materials, etc. Reminder: we will be having fun and laughing lots as we learn. Expect great things!
