Class Information

  Jr. Theater Production

Sstudents will learn basic acting techniques including pantomime, improvisation, theatre games and theatre terminology. We will experience the production process from auditions through performance, including behind the scenes work. Together we will select a play and adapt it to fit the number of students in class.  We will  learn our lines, work on character development, and blocking.  We will work toward a performance at the end of the semester. The performance will take place at the Trinity Theatre. there will be additional rehearsal dates the week prior to production that students will be required to attend.

  Instructor Bio:
  Patsy has taught at Palaestra since 2002. She has her BA from the University of Michigan in Speech/Communications and Theater and her MA from Eastern Michigan University in Drama/Theater for the Young. She has been a teacher in the Theatre Arts since 1988. She owns the Shoe-String Theatre Co, LLC and teaches drama classes and workshops in local schools and at the Livonia YMCA. She also has her CDA for Early Childhood Development and is the Music Teacher at the Livonia Montessori School.
