In this high energy class, students continue their dance training through this advanced level jazz class. Each period will include a warm-up and across the floor combinations to challenge flexibility, muscular strength and overall dance ability. Students will be encouraged to reach new heights with their leaps, tricks and turns as well as memorizing more difficult levels of choreography sequences. Emphasis will be on perfecting new dance steps and achieving a stronger performance. 3+ years of prior ballet or jazz experience is required for this class. Students will need a solid black leotard with stretch capris/leggings and NUDE slip on jazz shoes. Bring a water bottle. Material fee is for recital costume and covers the entire year. PLEASE NOTE: This class is a ONE year (fall and winter semester) long commitment. There will only be ONE recital and the end of the WINTER semester in May 2017. Dancers must be age 10 by the end of September. !

  Instructor Bio:
  Christina Kilpatrick has been training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical and Praise dance for over fifteen years. She is a STOTT Pilates certified instructor and a certified Personal Trainer through The National Academy of Sports Medicine. Christina has been teaching dance for over fifteen years. She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Palaestra Dance Team and has been leading the program since 2007. Christina is a former company member of Grace Dance Ensemble and was the founder and creator of the six year long Earth to Eternity praise dance ensemble ministry. In addition to conducting the Palaestra Dance Team, Christina is on the children’s ministry team for the Oak Pointe West Bloomfield church plant. She also enjoys cooking, walking in Maybury State Park and spending time with her husband, Iain. Christina loves working with dancers of all ages and abilities and is excited to share her passion for dance with her students!
