Boys Welcome! NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS WELCOME. In this toe-tapping class, students will learn the basics of tap dance which focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. All classes begin with an energetic warm-up, across the floor exercises and tap combinations. Students will explore the fundamental steps of tap dance, learn tap terminology and develop the ability to maintain correct body placement. Each student will need black BUCKLE or VELCRO tap shoes. Girls should wear pink tights & leotard with their hair pulled back. Boys should wear black stretch pants and a white T-shirt. Material fee is for recital costume and covers the entire year. PLEASE NOTE: This class is a ONE year (fall and winter semester) long commitment. There will only be ONE recital and the end of the WINTER semester in May 2017.

  Instructor Bio:
  Ms. Meghan has been teaching Dance coming up on 17 years now; her ‘Dance Journey’ started when she was 4 years old, and she’s been in love with Dance ever since. Tap is her main genre with styles such as Soft Shoe, Rhythm, Freestyle, and Jazz-based Broadway being the foundation of her training. Meghan also has an extensive background in Youth Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Youth Hip Hop, and Musical Theater & Performing Arts Workshops. She is a Choreographer for high school productions, Praise Dance performances, flash mobs, and weddings. Meghan owns her own company; MFH Dance Training LLC, where she provides in-home training for all ages & incomes. She also teaches for the Redford Community Center’s Adult Dance Program. Meghan is super excited to share her love for Dance with all her new students!
